Ethiopia Guji Gubata

This coffee is produced by farmers from Gubata Farmers Group who work with Toure Waji and his company Sookoo Coffee. Their farms are located in East Gudji, Shakiso Voreda, at an altitude of over 2100 meters above sea level. Altitude, warm days and cool nights are ideal for growing coffee.
Methods of farming in Gudji are mostly traditional. Farmers grow coffee with other crops, including beans, peas and fake bananas, which are the basis of local cuisine. Most farms are organic: they use almost no chemical fertilizers and pesticides, or abandon them altogether. Most work is done manually.
All coffee is selectively collected by hand, then it goes to the washing station Gubata. At the station, it is sorted and damaged or unripe berries are removed, after which they are placed on raised beds to dry. To evenly dry the berries are constantly leveled with a rake. It takes about 2-3 weeks to dry.
