Coffee That Open Your Eyes. Fresh Black Launches Charity Coffee Drip Bags to Support Drone Fundraising
Fresh Black has launched charity coffee packs to support the fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian reconnaissance drone system, Dzhmil-1. The initiative was started by Mykola Konon, roaster and founder of the Dark Horse Roastery, who is actively serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All proceeds from the sales of these charity packs will be sent to Mykola.
The coffee for these packs was generously provided by the B2B coffee marketplace Fantine. We roasted, ground, and packed this at Idealist factory.
About the Coffee
Each coffee pack is priced at 100 UAH. You can choose between two options: Granja Paraiso92 SIDRA Double Fermentation and Porto 100 hours Villa Luz Colombia Natural.
Both these selections are premium coffees sourced from the Cauca region of Colombia, situated near the equator. Owing to the elevated altitudes (1700-1900 m), coffee cherries in this region mature at a leisurely pace, giving them ample time to develop sugars. The coffee also carries a subtle caramel note, influenced by the sulfur content of the volcanic soils.
The coffee is sourced from distinct farmers:
- Granja Paraiso92 SIDRA Double Fermentation is cultivated by Wilton Benitez, a professional with 15 years of expertise, who adopts innovative farming and processing techniques.
- Porto 100 hours Villa Luz Colombia Natural is produced by a family - Emilson Mosquera, Ana Milena Morera, and their son Victor. They ventured into specialty coffee in 2020, but their product has swiftly garnered accolades in contests like The Best of Cauca and Colombia Land and Diversity.
About the Campaign
The Dzhmil-1, for which the fundraiser is set up, consists of 5 reconnaissance drones produced in Ukraine. The system comes fully equipped to facilitate field reconnaissance operations for up to 2 days. The kit includes 5 drones, a control console, pilot goggles, a tablet, essential tools, and charging units.
