New arrival: Coffee Drips with Music Playlists

Music and coffee are two things that can wake you up, even when you're already awake. They also energize you, open up new sensations, and help you listen to yourself and others. That's why we, in collaboration with SLUKH music media, have combined these two passions into a new collection of coffee drips - Drip Tape.

What is it?

Drip Tape is a mix of five drips, each with a unique playlist that you can listen to while enjoying your coffee. We at Fresh Black have chosen coffee, and the SLUKH editors have curated 5 playlists full of songs by Ukrainian artists.

Listen to the Coffee

We believe that coffee and music, especially when combined, help you tune into yourself better, that’s why the slogan of the project is "Listen to the Coffee." This is also the title of our video manifesto, where we express the essence of the project.

"For me and the entire team, this project has been a creative challenge. It has evolved during its implementation, acquiring new nuances and meanings, but the core idea of combining music and coffee has always stayed with us. We engaged numerous talented professionals to realize our vision and achieved exactly what we wanted. My favorite part was the creative shooting with Anastasia Ermolaeva; these photos perfectly capture the vibe of different moods and tastes," remarks Yulia Savenko, Marketing Director of Fresh Black.

Another goal of Drip Tape was to popularize Ukrainian musicians who are shaping the modern indie scene. This was accomplished by SLUKH editors, who gathered performers of various genres in the playlists: electronic musicians Kurs Valüt, grunge enthusiasts «Скажи Щось Погане» (Say Something Bad), kitty rocker Vioria, and many others. All the tracks were compiled to complement the mood of the coffee, ranging from aggressive and harsh to cheerful and playful.

Musicians Defend Ukraine

We aim to support those musicians who are currently defending Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces. That's why 15 UAH from each pack of Drip Tape will be donated to the Musicians Defend Ukraine charity fund. We will send these contributions every three months and provide updates on our Instagram.

"The Drip Tape project exemplifies how value-based and creative businesses can spotlight the most interesting representatives of the Ukrainian scene. The collaboration incorporates three elements integral to the daily life of most Ukrainians: delicious coffee, music, and charity. The Musicians Defend Ukraine team will allocate part of the proceeds from the sales of the drips to support musicians currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The songs of several of them are featured in Drip Tape coffee playlists," says Kateryna Voichuk, Co-Founder of the Musicians Defend Ukraine Foundation.

Here is a glimpse of the "coffee and music journey":

  • "Picnic at night" (Ethiopia Tsegayo Tekebo Jabanto) is aggressive, sharp coffee;
  • "Something colorful and playful" (Kenya Kabingara) is flowery, playful coffee;
  • "Sweet lies" (China Yalan Li Yulan) is dreamy, hazy;
  • "Dance Machine" (Brazil Villa Boa) is dancing, colorful;
  • "Post-dessert hugs" (Bourbon post-fermented) is pensive, slow.
