Colombia Red Velvet

This coffee variety was developed by the National Coffee Center of Colombia after 15 years of research.

It is grown by Wilton Benitez, a professional processor, roaster, and producer with over 15 years of experience.

Wilton cultivates this variety on his family farm, Granja Paraiso 92, located in the Colombian region of Cauca. The farm features innovative cultivation systems, its own microbiological laboratory, a quality laboratory, and a processing plant.

The farm's proximity to the equator means the coffee benefits from more sunlight than in other regions and enjoys a stable climate year-round. Additionally, high, massive mountains protect it from winds. Due to the high altitude (1700-1900 meters above sea level), the coffee cherries ripen slowly, allowing more time for sugar development, which is essential for fermentation. The volcanic soils contribute a light caramel flavor thanks to their sulfur content.

When brewed as a filter coffee, you'll taste notes of nectarine, mango, and red apple.
